Great run in Maine with my brother!

Had a great run up in Maine visiting family for Christmas. I asked my brother who lives less than a mile from my in-laws where we’re staying to come with me, and he agreed!

He hasn’t been running much since his second daughter was born in July, but as a former high school sprinter, there’s very little chance that he’ll ever have trouble keeping up with me for three miles 🙂

This works out well when I’m looking for a spontaneous running partner for a few leisurely miles on a sunny and crisp winter morning! It was so nice to talk without kids or distractions and get some fresh air and exercise at the same time. That’s like three birds with one stone.

I also got to see his Christmas Star Wars scene, which is quite lovely and makes me smile, and I returned in time to be greeted by two happy cats, vegan pancakes, and Will watching Greg return from HIS run. A beautiful morning 🙂

It also put my weekly mileage above 10 miles for the first time since my Nov 9th half marathon… and it feels good to be back! I love spin class, and I needed to recover, but I feel like myself again when I run.

Hope you’re getting out there too!

  1. Got out for 5.6 miles with my old group today. It felt great. I’m at 26 miles for the month of December.

    1. December is always a slow month for me, and every year I think it won’t be! It’s such a tough time with cold season and holidays, but that only makes it feel that much better when we’re able to get out there and run 🙂
